TRAVELING SOLO – TIPS FOR SINGLE TRAVELERS (2)

tips for when you're traveling by yourself

Traveling solo can be miles out of your comfort zone. What happens when I don’t meet any nice people to hang out with? And it would be so weird having to eat by myself in a restaurant! All these worries are quickly outweighed by the advantages of – at least every now and then – traveling alone. Here we offer our second set of tips for single travelers. Find our first tips for single travelers here.

FEAR SOLO DINING? BRING A GOOD BOOK
In your busy day to day life you never have time to read a book. Travelling solo? Treat yourself and that page turner to a nice dinner! Take your book to a pick nick. Reading a book will also make it feel less awkward when you’re at a bar or a restaurant all by yourself.

BUY A LOCAL SIM CARD
Travelling for a couple of weeks or more? Get a local sim card for your phone to save on phone charges. They’re often very affordable and it’s convenient and safe for when you’re on the road without wifi.

KEEP A JOURNAL
This is YOUR trip. Write down the best moments, adventures, highlights, low points, contact details of your travel buddies and favourite hot spots for when you’re old and grey and want to look back on a life well lived 😉

USEFULL APPS
Download a few usefull apps on your smartphone. Therefor, we’ve created a handy list of travel apps.
