Our marketing dream team is visiting Bali in a few weeks for ‘inspiration’ so they collected some Bali hot spots from staff, friends and guests from all over the world…. And off course the Amstel House is always happy to share …
SEMINYAK AREA Not the real Bali / Indonesia and more touristy by the day but still nice for a couple of days (and sooo much nicer than party tourist ghetto Kuta!). Seminyak has nice shops, clubs and restaurants.
Potatoe head: Nice food and drinks, at the beach. Pricey and touristy but cool place and nice swimming pool at the beach front. Kudeta bar: right at the beach. Like Potatoe Head, pricey and touristy but still a good vibe and great music for a Friday night drinks or lunch with friends. La Plancha (at Double 6): local hangout, great for after beach drinks and beach parties
Batu Bolong: perfect little down to earth beach club to wind down with some corona’s after surfing Echo Beach: great for surfing and lunch / drinks Continue reading →
If there is a holiday that stands for Berlin, no doubt that is the first of May. The city gets stir up in all meanings during Labor Day. First of all politically: more than five large demonstrations take place on this date. The biggest one, Revolutionary May 1, starts always at 6p.m s in Kreuzberg and is led by autonomous and anti-fascist groups against capitalism. It is also around the area that the largest festival of the day, Myfest Berlin 2015, takes place. Organized by the alternative scene, the street festival attracts thousands of people every year. In many stages spread around the Lausitzer Platz more than 20 DJs and Bands make the party for free and for every one. Besides music, performers, comedians, workshops and many food stands are part of the program that goes on throughout the whole day. Don’t miss it. In no other day one can get so close of the spirit of Berlin.

Coming to Germany and not trying the local beers is like travelling to the beach and not swimming in the ocean. The drink is not only a national monument, bur also a tourist attraction not to be missed. Some dare to say that the beer quality here – do to many rules and laws – is even higher than that of water.Having that in mind and thinking about the constant and bohemian curiosity of our guests the Amstel House created a Beer Combo. Available in two sizes – with 6 or 8 bottles – the special box comes with different types of beers of several regions of Germany and some snacks to accompany the tasting. By ordering the Beer Combo Box you get 20% off the original prices. So come around and make your order. We are happy to provide you this delicious experience.
Quinoa isn’t a grain, but actually a seed from the Andes, which lacks gluten and is full of antioxidants, proteins and fibres. This salad is a great option after a long day of walking trough the city or any other outdoor activity. Although vegan and gluten free, it is very filling (especially because of the black beans) and nutritious. Therefore it also creates a great base for a good night out or drinks at the Amstel House bar *_* The list of ingredients might scare you a bit, but it is very easy to make as it is a matter of cooking the quinoa and mixing all the ready-to-eat ingredients together.
INGREDIENTS (serves 2)
Salad 200 gr quinoa (available in most supermarkets, but in the local organic shop for sure)
small can of black beans
box of cherry tomatoes, cut in half Continue reading →
