Berlin has a long migration history that seems luckily never to cease. More than fifteen percent of the population is foreign from over 190 countries. Whit its tolerant, libertarian and creative disposition the city keeps attracting people from all around the world. The result is a living multiculturalism full of possibilities, a heterogeneous city that not only respects but especially celebrates diversity and all the wealth that comes with it.

A big example of this is the up coming beloved event Karneval der Kulturen (Carnival of Cultures), a four-day urban festival that reflects Berlin’s many faces. From 13th to 16th of May the street of Kreuzberg are taken as stage for all forms of cultural expressions in a free and open program that attracts annually a plural crowd of over 1.3 million people.

Four different big stages are built around the neighborhood hosting over 100 bands and DJs of all kinds of global music, playing all day long and for free. Balkan Beats, Flamenco, Cumbia, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, Hip Hop are just some to be mention among this rich line up. On the off stage areas and green grass around more than 200 performers and artists make the scenario even more magic.  And since food is one of the most joyful parts of cultural 350 market booths offer all kinds of culinary treasures between artistic arts and crafts.
