On Spree Island, you’ll find the well know and UNESCO heritage Museum Island, host to 5 museums. All museums charge an entrance fee, but simply taking a stroll on Museum Island and admire the architecture of all 5 museums from the outside is certainly worth while and free.

Although tipping is appreciated, there are many awesome walking tours in Berlin that will not charge you.
