King Kong hostel
No doubt. King Kong Hostel is the coolest place to stay. It has fun staff, good vibes, awesome décor and facilities and perfect location amidst a bunch of funky bars and restaurants.
Hotel New York
If your budget allows it and you’re on a romantic city trip, consider Hotel New York. This nostalgic hotel used to belong to the Holland America Line from which thousands of emigrants from all over Europe began their journey to cross the Atlantic in search of a new life in North America or Australia.

Bertmans: our #1 favourite place for breakfast and lunch in Rotterdam is Bertmans. Take the brunch platter with small portions of their best dishes and your taste buds are in for a real treat! It’s around the corner from Zwaanshals with cool small designer shops.
Hopper: Go to Hopper for nice lunches, coffee, delicious sweet stuff and free wifi for if you need to catch up on some e-mails. There’s a Hopper in the city center and a new Hopper in the Zwaanshals area as well.
Lof der zoetheid: If you’re a sweet tooth, better call your dentist because this store has the best of the sweet stuff, freshly baked in front of you (hence the delicious smell when you walk through the door)! Lof der Zoetheid is great for some sweet souvenirs and gifts as well. Near Bertram and Zwaanshals area.
Fenix Food Factory: Forget the recently opened ‘Markthal’ with little to no atmosphere, it’s too polished for Rotterdam. If you are a food lover and like real, pure, tasty and affordable food, go to Fenix Food Factory.
Supermercado: You can find Supermercado n the same street as King Kong hostel. This new kid on the block serves great Latin American dishes like ceviche and empanadas. Ow and did we mention the cocktails at Supermercado are the best you’ve had in a long long time?

Zwaanshals – Zwaanshals is a small street with cool independent designers and cute small shops
&Design Shop – independent design shop and studio. &Design sells the latest design candy by young upcoming designers and make their own smashing 3D designs.
Groos – Groos is an innovative store that showcases products and art from Rotterdam’s very best designers. They just moved to a really cool industrial building ‚Het Industriegebouw‘. It houses other cool shops, a Mexican restaurant, studios and a coffee shop.
