Let’s be nomads – the first powder-chasing hostel on wheels.

Hostel on wheels nomads bus

At the Amstel House Hostel Berlin we meet happy adventurers every day. These inspiring travellers and their amazing stories make our work more fun than fun. But every now and then we hear a story that we can’t keep to ourselves.

Meet Valerie and Tim. This Flemish couple has been travelling the globe on a daily budget of €9 for the past two years. Mixing their travel experiences with their love for the mountains they just came up with a great idea. If they have it their way an American Schoolbus will soon be converted into a fully serviced hostel bus chasing the best powder in the Alpes. They call it the ‘Nomads Bus’. And you can be on it! The Amstel House just sponsored the last bit on their Indiegogo campaign to get our name carved in the bus!

This summer, Valerie and Tim together with a team of architects and interior designers will build a dorm room with 6 bunk beds into the school bus. Time and Valerie aim to create a chalet vibe with an après ski area outside the bus and a cozy wooden hot stove. Val will be cooking the guests some delicious wholesome meals and it will definitely get cozy with a total of 25m2 living space!

The nomads bus will target winter sport lovers who enjoy adventure over luxury. Experienced skiers and snowboarders who crave something different. People who prefer riding the powder hills, meeting fellow adventurers and exploring the back country.

Tickets for riding the Nomads bus this winter are available from the website (below). You can choose your preferred time period and sector.

Tim and Val are also looking for Nomads who are willing to become a part of the Nomads family. More specifically they are looking for media nomads to film, local nomads to show the best spots of their winter habitat and skilled nomads who can help us convert the bus.

….their new idea could possibly be the best invention to come from the Flemish Kingdom since the Tin Tin comics, or the museum of chips…..
