Getting here
If you are not a thousand miles away, get a ride! Germany has many websites where you can find people driving from different places to Berlin. By a share of costs you get a place in some fellow’s car for very little money. This is called Mitfahrgelegenheit and is a very common way of traveling, especially among students. Besides saving some bucks, you can also make some friends.

Stay
It is not only because it is our house, but we really are the best cost-benefit in town. The Amstel House is a cool hostel with budged prices. Depending on the Sunday (the week day we offer the most low–cost rates) you can get a bed for 11€ for example. And it is not only a matter of sleeping. Our bar has 3 different happy hours. Daily, from 6 to 8 pm all our beers cost only 2€ the bottle; and from 8 to 10 pm all cocktails cost 4,50 €. Sundays from 12 am to 4 pm you get a small bottle beer for the amazing price of only 1€. Where o earth do you get to find this?

Culture
Many great Berlin Museums offer free entrance, such as the Berlin Wall Memorial, the Humboldt Box and the Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, just to name a few!  Others have free entrance in special days/hours.  Besides, the world’s biggest outside gallery and longest still remaining piece of the Berlin Wall is out in the street, for anyone to see. Same with city’s exuberant street art.

Memory
Berlin is a city full of memory and marks. From West to East memorials and monuments tell us about its history and characters. Beauty, sadness, respect, style and recollection can be found at the corners of the Germany’s capital for no price. Between the most visited ones are the Holocaust Memorial, the Victoria Colum and the Soviet Memorial.

Eat
Berlin has a culture of street food. Besides the classics Döner Kebab and Curry currywurst, which you get for some pocket money, the city offers a range of good Asian restaurants in most corners that offer delicious hot dishes sometimes only for a € 5 euro bill.

Drink and Party
Now that the warm season has begun locals and visitors can find a lot to celebrate outside. The city hosts many street festivals, park raves and outside parties free of entrance and open to everyone. If you make the nice friends you might even drink for free.
