Smart tip: if you are travelling in a small circle of friends buy the group day ticket. To get to know the city you will need to move a lot around and this is definitely the cheapest way. For only 19,90 € up to five people get to drive all day long all kinds of public transportation in the central part of Berlin.
With the metro head south. In only 2 station you land at Zoologischer Garten, former West Berlin center. Take a walk around the square and get to know the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The damages the church suffered during the WWII were kept to remember the destruction caused by wars. Today the landmark is one of Berlin’s most visited.
From there another 3 station with the metro you get to the stunning Schlosspark Charlottenburg, Berlin’s biggest palace in baroque and rococo style. Its beautiful garden is a city’s must see.
Back to the hostel: check in, get change, have as many Burgers as you can and a beer for 7,50 € at our all-you-can-eat Burger BBQ and go for some good drinks at our neighbor bar Kowski.
Prepare for the day with a full yummy breakfast at our hostel buffet for only 5,50 € and join a free (tip based) walking tour. Recharge the energy. Have lunch in the central district Mitte at Berlin’s most delicious Vietnamese restaurant Monsieur Vuong. Drive 3 station with the S-Bahn to land at the East Side Gallery, the longest remaining piece of the former Berlin Wall.
Have some drinks at the amazing urban space RAW Gelände. Grab the best Kebab around at Döner Dach and if you get into the mood for some party stay in the area, where most of city’s best clubs are located.
Take it easy. Have a coffee and head to the Mauerpark, Berlin’s biggest and most famous flea market in Prenzlauer Berg. Do some cheap shopping, grab a beer and a sausage and have a sit in the sun.
