After some super fun days in Berlin it is always hard to leave the city. But the trip is not yet over. The backpacking has to go on! Time to find another amazing destiny. Not far from here are many interesting cities, which are easily and economically reached by bus or train. Check out our Amstel House favorite neighbors. Tips on where to go after Berlin:
Amsterdam (650 km)
Just like Berlin Amsterdam is a young city of hectic nightlife and intense cultural scene. Due to their similar style and geographic proximity both are usually part of the same cool itinerary. If you are going to one you have to visit the other. We guarantee the fun!
Prague (350 km)
Just a few hours from here lays one of the oldest and most beautiful cities of Europe. Prague has a historical center impressive to any kind of traveler. Beautiful national monuments such as the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge and Old Town Square are a must see. Very close to each other it is no wonder that Berlin and Prague are commonly part of the same travel route.
Danzig (490 km)
If you are in the mood to rest from the hustle and bustle of Berlin Danzig may be the next ideal destination. Located on the Baltic coast of Poland, the city was once an important European cultural center and now houses a charming, rich and old port perfect for quiet walks. Depending on the weather you can even venture on a swim in one of the nearest beaches.
Hamburg (290 km)
Berlin’s closest sister in the German alternative scene Hamburg has a bohemian and underground nightlife worth a shot. During the day go for a stroll at the harbor and around some of its charming channels. The mix of old and modern architecture in the city is striking! And if St. Pauli – the Hamburg soccer team most loved by Berliners – will be playing, make sure to watch the game and cheer!
Copenhagen (440 km)
This is not only a great destination, but a fun ride as well. To get to Copenhagen from Berlin you have to travel to Rostock, a very north German harbor city, and take a ferry over the Baltic Sea. The Danish capital has also a lot to offer: art around the beach, amazing modern architecture, canal boat tours. We strongly recommend a visit to Christiania, one of the most popular local attractions. Founded in 1971 by free minded people the community offers communal kitchen, concerts and the feeling of a remaining hippie life style.
