The good side of the fall arrival is how cozy bars and cafés can get. Some more than others. This week we paid a visit to one of our top favorite bars of the season: the charming Bellmann Bar: good wine and antique ambient in Berlin.
Right at the corner of Reichenberger with Glogauer Straße at the bohemian district of Kreuzberg , this place is like a trip back in time. Everything in its intimate interior is antique: the massive wooden tables, the stunning chandelier, the long silenced gramophone, the piano still crying out the blues. Even the cigarette machine is surly older than your dad.
The classic ambient at a low candlelight has a touch of the old Viennese cafés, with yellowed wallpaper and cigarette smoke. One feels as if everyone around is whispering some brilliant idea, creating a novel character or talking about a love letter. It is pure nostalgia and inspiration. And the menu is also a stimulus for it. Great Italian and French wine, tasty whisky range and good tap beer. Perfect for a romantic night, a long talk with an old friend or a first date with a tinder match. Bellmann Bar: good wine and antique ambient in Berlin.
