Berlin in autumn has a very special vibe to it: the city gets a little quiter, you see people enjoying coffee and tea rather in the cute cafes all over the city, but spending time outside. You can see a variety of coats, jackets, scarfs and heads and the stylisch Berliners will not fail to amaze you with their cosy fall fashion.

Yet there is a  lot of things to see and do – everything under the strict rules and with a well planned hygiene concept, so your trip to Berlin will be perfectly safe!

Here are 7 things to do in Berlin in October 2020:

1. The European Month of Photography
   (1. Oktober – 31. Oktober 2020)

   The European Month of Photography Berlin is the largest German photography festival. It has been taking place every two years since 2004 and presents numerous exhibitions and events on historical and contemporary photography.

   Our Highlight: «Masculinities: Liberation through Photography» at Gropius Bau.

2. Day of german unity
   (3. Oktober 2020)

   Over 30 years ago the Berlin wall fell and Germany was united. Due to the pandemic the big events were cancelled, but there has never been a better time to visit the Panoroma! The monumental panorama presents the Berlin Wall with a view from Kreuzberg towards the centre and gives an impression of life on and with the Wall on a fictitious autumn day in the 1980s.

3. Gamesweekberlin
   (28. – 30. October 2020)

   The gamesweekberlin is a leading cross-industry communication and networking platform for games business, development and culture. Participants include German and international game developers, publishers, as well as gamers, families and fans. In 2019 about 27.000 visitors attended gamesweekberlin events.

4. Human Rights Film Festival Berlin 2020
   (30. September – 10. October 2020)

   The programme comprises a total of 40 selected international documentaries with inspiring stories of everyday heroes who worked for a more sustainable, solidarity-based, democratic and corruption-free world.
   All films are available in stream for the entire festival week. Additionally, they offer  screenings in our partner cinemas Sputnik, Moviemento and ACUDkino as well as in the BUFA.

5. ArTminius21 – Kreativmarkt Moabit
   (10. October 2020)
   The ArTminius21 is back after a long break. Meet our exhibitors in the middle aisle of the Arminiusmarkthalle from 10 to 17 o’clock. There is everything your heart desires. And all-round versatile culinary delights. Anyone who would like to have an extensive breakfast/brunch can register for the Saturday brunch in the Hofladen.

6. Grunewalder Bier Festival 2020
   (9. – 10. October 2020)
   More than 40 different types of beer and delicious food await you at the Grunewald beer festival. Admission is strictly limited, so make sure you get free admission quickly by registering. (link on their facebook page)

7. Day of Club Culture
   (3. October 2020)

   On October 3, 2020, TAG DER CLUBKULTUR will send a sign of life for the club culture with diverse showcases all over Berlin. The motto is: We are still here! The clubs of Berlin will present themselves outdoor and indoor  with various club-cultural showcases in the districts of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Lichtenberg, Mitte, Neukölln, Pankow, Spandau and Treptow-Köpenick.

   The programme for the day of clubculture will be published online at tagderclubkultur.berlin and in the social media channels. Tickets for the individual events are only available in advance.
